Corruption is inducement by improper means (as bribery) to violate duty (as by committing a felony). One of the major problems and obstacles to development that many developing countries face is corruption by greedy, power-hungry politicians, which is endemic in India. Parliament and Assembly has the record of majority of the seats won by candidates with criminal records. A study done by Transparency International (TI) in India found that more than 50% of the people had firsthand experience of paying bribe or peddling influence to get a job done in a public office. Many state-funded construction activities in India, such as road building, are dominated by construction mafias, which are groupings of corrupt public works officials, materials suppliers, politicians and construction contractors. Shoddy construction and material substitution (e.g. mixing sand in cement while submitting expenses for cement) result in roads and highways being dangerous, and sometimes simply washed away when India"s heavy monsoon season arrives Transparency International estimates that truckers pay annually $5 billion in bribes. Judicial corruption in India is attributable to factors such as “delays in the disposal of cases, shortage of judges and complex procedures, all of which are exacerbated by a preponderance of new laws”. Despite state prohibitions against torture and custodial misconduct by the police, torture is widespread in police custody, which is a major reason behind deaths in custody. The chief economic consequences of corruption are an unhealthy climate for investment and an increase in the cost of government-subsidised services. Petty corruption in 11 basic services provided by the government, like education, healthcare, judiciary, police, etc. India still ranks in the bottom quartile of developing nations in terms of the ease of doing business. A Corruption Perception Index (CPI) Score relates to perceptions of the degree of corruption as seen by business people and country analysts and ranges between 10 (highly clean) and 0 (highly corrupt). The average CPI score for India for the year 2009 is “3.4” and ranked 88 and New Zealand is ranked 1 with highest CPI score of “9.4”.

Creation of anti-corruption police and courts under anti-corruption act didn’t act much against corruption but resulted in creation of new corrupted institution. Always, try to understand how to get rid of corruption from India and did a comparative analysis with the so called developed and corruption free nations and believe that we can let go of the corruption with proper development of Information Technology (IT) sector in India. IT is defined to be a set of techniques of managing information which includes storing, transferring, publishing…etc. News papers, Mobiles, Media, Telephones, Internet, Automation and Monitoring Systems are a few among many sub-branches of IT. IT is never developed in any way in India and it is only the IT services which are promoted and developed in India. Development of IT services to serve developed nations can help the economy to some extent but one should understand that it is not going to help us in the development of IT in our country India and we are helping the other nation’s development and economy to boost over. In India, we have a pretty good democratic system but there is NO monitoring system in place to look after the system. Can we imagine an examination hall without an invigilator…? There is fear in the students which stops them from cheating. Here invigilator is the monitoring machine responsible for the proper conduct of examination and what if the invigilator is corrupted…? Is there any system in place monitoring the duty of the invigilator? To answer all these questions, we should think developing an automated monitoring system and this system should create fear to everyone that others are watching us and let the right things are projected to the nation and help our country to be corruption free and one among the developed nations.

Please India, we developed enough IT services and let us start with a new step and develop IT in a right way in India and let go of the corruption.
